Valentine's Day

Well today wasn't any special day as I didn't do too much. I woke up pretty early and laid in bed for about 30 minutes (which was nice and rare), worked on a little project I was doing for Brandon, ate some breakfast with my parents, and then got ready for Church. I went to Church, but only for Sacrament meeting (which is at 12pm - lame!), and then came home to work on some school stuff I had forgotten about (a totally different blog there!). Thank you cards were started as I'm making my cards, and I love them!! :) I watched some of the Olympics, ate some lunch/dinner with my parents, and took a nice nap (my energy level is not normal!). YSA FHE was here in Lufkin, and I decided to go since I was able to talk Katie into going as well. It was so good to see her again; I mean, she is my MOH! haha Katie and I even made plans to go work out this week! YAY! It's been too long since we've done that together, and I so need to get my butt in gear! I only have 4 weeks!!!

As you can see, my Valentine's Day was nothing too special. Well... not the typical spend the day with the love of your life kind of special. Brandon had to work, so I got about a 3-5 minute conversation. :-) He doesn't like the phone so I take what I can get! But we are getting together tomorrow so I can give him his Valentine's Day gift then, and we are going to try to get some things taken care of for our upcoming adventures! Brandon gave me my Valentine's Day gift on Saturday night after I got off work, and I love it! It's the open heart necklace from Kay's! It's beautiful!!

This morning, I walked into the living room and noticed a package had come. I was excited as it was something I was waiting for, for the ceremony! :) On top of it, I found a card from my dad. It's beautiful, and I want to share it!!

From Your Dad with Love
Darling daughter,
you've been a Valentine to me
all of your life-from the moment
I first saw your beautiful baby face,
through all your growing-up years...
to the sweetheart you are today.

And I've loved you...
during the sweet and sassy ages,
the awkward and awesome ages,
and all the stages in between.

There have been many times
when I thought I couldn't love you more,
but then you'd prove me wrong
by coming along with more charm,
more confidence, more tenderness...
and my love for you just kept growing.

You're a part of my heart-
always have been.
Always will be.
A dad couldn't ask for a better Valentine
than a daughter like you.

I love my dad!! He's absolutely amazing!! I know that in 4 weeks, it is going to be hard to say goodbye as I leave his fold and create a new family and home of my own with Brandon. Of course, he will always be there, but he's not my "main man" as that becomes Brandon. Life is changing, and I'm realizing that I'm becoming more and more emotional about things. Not normal for me, but it's okay. :-)
