This past weekend I hopped on a plane, and headed to Utah. It was a VERY short trip, but a fun one! I landed in Salt Lake City at 11pm on Friday, and I left Salt Lake City at 1:30pm on Sunday.
While I was in Utah, I got to spend time with my friend Camille which is always fun! She is absolutely amazing, and I love her dearly!! I stayed with her so we got to spend a good bit of time together.
Saturday I got to see my friend Nicole as we got together for lunch at Spagetti Factory at Trolley Square. It was really good to see her. It took us a little while to get to talking and comfortable, but it got there. haha I then waited on my friend Jess for a little bit, and just sat outside by a water fountain and enjoyed the Utah air. Oh - it was a nice day!
Jess and I haven't seen each other for 6 1/2 years. It had been WAY too long! I finally get to meet her husband and cute little boy! It was really good to catch up with her, and then just talk about all the people we know from Georgia and catch up on what they are doing. Life has certainly changed for everyone from where it was when we were all in Waycross.
I then got to see Sasha again, and meet her little boy. OMW - Jaxson is CUTE! He was so flirty (which of course he would be - both of his parents are pros!). It was really good talking with her again as we used to hang out all the time, and just talk. It wasn't too long of a visit, but it was just good to see her again!
It was then time for the Relief Society Broadcast, and I got to watch it at the Westminster Institute. It was so nice to be back in that chapel. I used to spend many hours in that building! Heather and I watched it together, and then headed to Leatherby's. Man - it was busy, but oh so yummy!! I really would love to have a Leatherby's here!! We had Leatherby's with Camille, Marie, and Marie and Ben with their little boy. I got to hold him, and it was fabulous! I LOVE BABIES!!
Sunday was nice, but so different. It was good to attend a Single's Ward again, and to enjoy the peace and quiet. The ward had an amazing spirit, and I was just so impressed by the testimonies that were borne. It wasn't stories or thankamonies. Oh how I love it when it's done correct -- according to the counsel of the leaders of the Church!
After Church, Camille was home taught quickly (oh - I wonder what that is like... to have Home Teachers), and then off to the airport we went. When I got there and through security, I realized that the flight that was boarding was heading to Houston. Hmm... should I see about getting on that flight instead of waiting two hours?! My dad thought I should, so I listened and heard that it was completely booked. However, I sat close to really listen into conversations. As they were about to close the gate since one guy didn't seem to be showing up even though he had checked in, I ran to the counter. Lucky me - I pay $50 and I could board. Well - I wanted to get home so heck yes I'm going to pay it! Off I went, and got to sit by a lovely couple. They are from Savannah, GA, and very friendly. We chatted throughout the flight, except for the hour I slept and the thirty minutes or whatever that I did some homework. It was a nice flight.
It was a fun quick trip! I realized some things while I was out there, and I'm glad those things finally hit.

Nothing Seems to Be Going Right
This semester seems to just be all over the place!! I just can't seem to do anything right, and I don't know what the deal is. It stresses me out even more!
I just want to do something right... ONE THING! Am I really doing what I should be doing? Am I really heading in the right direction in my life?

Self-Assessment (ESFJ)
Almost a year later, I have been asked to take the Myers-Briggs self-assessment test. It's interesting because it changed. I'm actually becoming extroverted which is a first! I've ALWAYS been introverted! That is the only part that changed for me, but it's just interesting.
Here is what it says about me... does it fit?!
Guardian™ Portrait of the Provider (ESFJ)
Providers take it upon themselves to insure the health and welfare of those in their care, but they are also the most sociable of all the Guardians, and thus are the great nurturers of social institutions such as schools, churches, social clubs, and civic groups. Providers are very likely more than ten percent of the population, and this is fortunate for the rest of us, because friendly social service is a key to their nature. Wherever they go, Providers happily give their time and energy to make sure that the needs of others are met, and that social functions are a success.
Highly cooperative themselves, Providers are skilled in maintaining teamwork among their helpers, and are also tireless in their attention to the details of furnishing goods and services. They make excellent chairpersons in charge of dances, banquets, class reunions, charity fund-raisers, and the like. They are without peer as masters of ceremonies, able to speak publicly with ease and confidence. And they are outstanding hosts or hostesses, knowing everyone by name, and seemingly aware of what everyone's been doing. Providers love to entertain, and are always concerned about the needs of their guests, wanting to make sure that all are involved and provided for.
Friendly, outgoing, neighborly - in a word, Providers are gregarious, so much so that they can become restless when isolated from people. They love to talk with others, and will often strike up a conversation with strangers and chat pleasantly about any topic that comes to mind. Friendships matter a great deal to Providers, and their conversations with friends often touch on good times from years past. Family traditions are also sacred to them, and they carefully observe birthdays and anniversaries. In addition, Providers show a delightful fascination with news of their friends and neighbors. If we wish to know what's been going on in the local community, school, or church, they're happy to fill us in on all the details.
Providers are extremely sensitive to the feelings of others, which makes them perhaps the most sympathetic of all the types, but which also leaves them somewhat self-conscious, that is, highly sensitive to what others think of them. Loving and affectionate themselves, they need to be loved in return. In fact, Providers can be crushed by personal criticism, and are happiest when given ample appreciation both for themselves personally and for the tireless service they give to others.
William Howard Taft, Barbara Walters, J C Penney, Ray Kroc, Louis B. Mayer, Sam Walton, Dolley Madison, and Dave Thomas are examples of Provider Guardians.
Type of Job
The Guardian type known as the Provider (ESFJ) is sometimes known as the "Santa Claus" personality since they are generally well-liked and notice whenever situations become "naughty or nice." They provide for the welfare of many and usually show well-developed social skills. They are happiest in positions where they need to deal with people. It is not uncommon to find them in health care, as a physician, nurse, or respiratory therapist. They also can be attracted to the field of education, social service, or religion. In business they may be a retail owner, receptionist, real estate agent, or sales representative. The common theme is their service to others. Says Alice, "As a teen I did hospital volunteer work, but decided I preferred education so got my teaching degree. I've been teaching elementary school for 5 years. I love helping children to learn."

One Beautiful Wedding
Well, it's official... my brother is married! :-)
He married Shannon yesterday, and it was absolutely beautiful! She was a beautiful bride, and my brother looked pretty good himself. There were neat elements of the ceremony and day, and certainly things that just fit both of them. I loved seeing the hook from my brother's car keys in his pocket when he walked the aisle. I loved seeing Shannon crying of so much happiness, and my brother not being able to take his eyes off of her. It makes me cry just thinking about it! It seriously couldn't have been a better moment!
I didn't take any pictures (lame, I know), but there were certainly pictures taken by others. I can't wait to see how they all turned out. My brother and I have never been super close, but when it matters, we are there for each other. I cried at his wedding, and when I did my scriptural reading, we were all worried I wouldn't make it through. It was very special!
Thank you Shannon and Kevin for allowing me to be a part of such a wonderful day, and being able to share that moment with you two! I look forward to seeing where your lives go, and watching y'all grow closer together now as husband and wife... best friends!! I love you both!!

Schedules...
So, I got a new planner today! If you know me, you know that I LIVE by my planner. If it's not in there, I will most likely forget about it and plan something over it. That's just how my life is, and also my brain. haha But yea - I'm pretty excited as it's a 2009/2010 calendar! 7am-9pm!
Life is way crazy busy, but I'm starting to find some motivation. Maybe it's just me trying to change my attitude and make the best of what I've been given. I'm not really sure, but I know that it's up to me. I can either make the best or worst of everything. I prefer to be happy!
ALSO... I just got an e-mail today that I believe is saying that I am now on the national board for NCFR as a representative for Student Affiliates!! I'm super excited about this!! I get to attend a 5 hour meeting in November when I'm in San Francisco!!! Life keeps going, and it really is great.
Brandon is still amazing!! :-) hehe (Yea, I'm a dork, but that's okay!)

To Be Done...
Have you ever been burned out, and just not sure why you are still going? Why you are still doing the things you are doing? Believe me, I've been here before, but it seems worse this time.
I truly believe that things happen for a reason, and that the Lord calls us where He needs us to be. Yet right now, I'm just not really sure what I'm supposed to be doing or why I'm still here. I guess I haven't learned yet as I've been doing the same calling for two years now... a calling that is usually only a year. Unfortunately, I'm becoming very burned out.
Hopefully I'll get some help here soon as I've submitted some names (for like the third or fourth time) so that I'll have a council to help me. Life is just too crazy to be trying to do it all on my own!
School is even getting to me this semester, and it's weird. I used to be so excited about school and everything happening. Yet, I find myself with little motivation, if any at all. I'm not excited about my classes at all! I have a few ideas of why, but at the same time, I'm really trying to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing with my life... career wise.
I am in leadership of three different organizations on campus, and let me tell you, I've got my work cut out for me!! There is a lot to do, and last year when I agreed, I thought I would still have the motivation and drive.
However, there are a few things that I don't want to be done with or feel burned out about which is nice. The gospel of Jesus Christ is certainly an important part of my life! I am not perfect, and I make mistakes. There are many things that I need to improve on in my life, but I'm happy. I love attending the Temple, and feeling that peace and comfort! I'm excited to go to Utah at the end of the month, and attend the Temple as I'll have some time.
My family... they are amazing! I love them so much, and I'm grateful that I was born to my parents. It's not the perfect family life, but I'm loved and respected by my parents. We can laugh and be serious. We cannot talk, and it still be a great visit. My brother is getting married on the 19th, and I'm so happy for him. It used to be hard for me because here my younger brother was getting married before me. It's not hard anymore. He's marrying a wonderful girl who makes him happy! She fits in our family, and I couldn't ask for a better sister-in-law!
Brandon... a relationship that came out of nowhere! I met Brandon five years ago at some YSA activities, and it wasn't anything special. We even went on a date... the worst date of our lives!!! We both were relieved when that date was over. Now, I hate being away from him for even a day. We talk every day, and try to see each other as often as possible. He is so amazing! He knows so much, and teaches me something every day! He may have been my worst date ever, but he has also been my best date!
So yay for things that I don't want to ever end or to be done with!! Now... what do I do about the rest? I have thought often about getting a priesthood blessing; however, I don't really have a priesthood holder in my life that I'm close to and feel comfortable going to right now. *sigh* It'll all work out! It always does!!

Life is very crazy! It is just the first week of classes, and I am so ready for it to be over with!! There is a lot to do, and I'm just hoping that I'm going to make it through. On the other hand of all the craziness from classes and school, life is great! Brandon and I are doing AMAZING!! :-) Yea - that's very much the best part of my life!
