Going a little crazy...

School starts on Monday, and I feel SO far behind right now. There are many things that I need to do, and well, I haven't done any of them. Oops!! My mind is in one place, and yet, that's not completely where I am supposed to be right now. I can't even believe it's already Thursday! This summer and this week has gone by so quickly!!

I am starting to make goals and make plans. I have a list of things to do, and I need to make that list happen! I'm already getting my school schedule all together, and figuring out when I'm going to have time to do different things. AGH! Right now - the time is starting to fill up greatly!

One goal I have is to get out of debt!! There is some debt that I'm going to have for awhile, i.e., school! But, there is some debt that I really shouldn't have right now that I do. I want it to be gone, and gone within the next couple of months. This is going to take a lot of work... literally, but it's possible!

The second goal I have is getting in shape! Yes, I would love to lose 10-15 pounds, but more importantly, I just want to get rid of fat and gain some muscle back. So I am working on making a schedule of when I will be able to get in the gym, and work out. Lucky for me - the gym is open till midnight during the semester! :-)

Please leave any tips or encouraging words for me!! I certainly need them at this time!!

Utah Trip 2009

I just got home on Monday morning from Utah. Katie and I drove out there a week ago to visit Utah, and just have a vacation. Katie had never been to Utah, and I of course wanted to see some friends and just get away. We had been planning this trip for several months, and amazingly, it happened!!!

Driving out there, we made it a two day trip so that I could see my Great-Aunt and Uncle in Strasburg, Colorado. They fed us some amazing food for dinner and breakfast. Oh - it was exactly what we needed and I don't know if I ever become unfull! :-) It was a fun drive, and we saw some crazy things!

Once in Utah, we stayed with my friend Heather a couple days, my friend Camille one night, and then in a hotel for a couple of days. I am so truly grateful to those who made that possible!!!

Tuesday evening we went to Leatherby's for some amazing cheese fries and fry sauce and homemade ice cream! YUMMY! We then drove around to see the Jordan River Utah Temple, Draper Utah Temple (from a distance), and the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. They are so beautiful!! We then drove up Butterfield Canyon to enjoy the stars and fresh air.

Wednesday was a day spent hiking. Katie didn't have too much fun, but Heather and I enjoyed the hikes. (Sorry Katie!!) We hiked Donut Falls, Silver Lake, and Twin Lakes. They were beautiful, and I wish I could go hiking more! Katie and I then got ready to see my friend Jen Bates, who I hadn't seen in close to 3 years probably. We went to P.F. Chang's for dinner with Jen, and three of her friends (Brian, Andy, and Brittany). After a fun meal, we hiked Ensign Peak to enjoy the view at night.

Thursday was spent at Bear Lake! Oh - such a BEAUTIFUL day!! It couldn't have been any more perfect! We saw cows being herded on the way up, and that was pretty exciting. We enjoyed the lake, and just getting some much needed sun! Thursday night we had dinner with Camille at Applebee's.

Friday was an interesting day! My car had some problems the day before, and so we went to Tim Dahl Nissan (where I bought my car). We were there for two hours and even saw Andy. The fuel level sensor had to be replaced. LAME! Afterwards, we went to the Distribution Center and got pedicures. Oh - they were nice!! We checked into the hotel (thank you Ann and Michael!) to enjoy our own beds. Up Butterfield Canyon we went again with some friends of mine (Ben and Marie with their little one, Jonathan, Heather, Tyler, Camille). We had a fun campfire, and just enjoyed roasting things and each other.

Saturday morning I got up to attend a session in the Salt Lake Utah Temple. Oh - it was absolutely amazing!! I love the Temple, and I love the things I learn! It was a very special three hours for me!! Katie and I then just hung out for the day by going to Gateway, eating at Happy Sumo, checking out a few other shops, and eating at Chili's. We then watched a movie at Camille's, and that was fun. We watched Finding Nemo, and I fell asleep. haha I was so tired!

Sunday was our travel day. We got up, checked out, ate some breakfast, and hit the road. It was a long 19 hours to Katie's, but we got there at 4am! I slept for a few hours, and then headed back to Nacogdoches.

What a great trip! It was hard on me for different reasons, but it was so great to see some people that I love dearly!! It was fun to spend time with Katie! We didn't kill each other, and that's amazing!! :-)

Yay!! :-D

The past few days have just been really great days! I have been happy, and I'm just loving it!

I leave for Utah in just a couple days, and of course, I haven't even started packing. I'm really excited to get out there, and see all my friends! It's going to be fun showing Katie around Utah as well. It's a special place to me for so many different reasons, and a place that I know I will always love.

So... my boyfriend, Brandon, is absolutely amazing!! Things are going so great between us, and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else in my life right now!

Today I received my acceptance letter to the Graduate School!!!! I'm so excited about this as it means I can register for graduate classes, and get going on my Masters program while I finish up my second bachelor's degree!

Life is going so great, and things are amazing!! I know hard times will come, and it's not going to always seem this great. But, I have these days to look back on and know that it all works out!!!

My Tribute to Sadie! :-)

Yesterday, I got the opportunity to attend a wedding reception for a friend of mine in Denton, TX. It was so good to see her, and she was absolutely beautiful!!!

Sadie and I met at EFY during San Antonio I Session. At first, I wasn't too sure if we were going to get along or how things would play out, but man, we became pretty good friends after we got the experience of cramming 4 people in the backseat of a car, her pretty much sitting in my lap, and of course, the inside joke the car had (and now most of the counselors have) of the bra strap. LOL!

Over that week and the week of San Antonio II, we became good friends. We talked about a lot of different things, and shared experiences that only people in that situation could ever understand. I don't think that if we were anywhere else that we would have become such good friends. It's amazing the things that happen in such a spiritual environment where you really don't have to worry about anything but just being yourself! I love it!!
Here are a couple pictures of Sadie and I from EFY and her wedding reception... she is amazing, and I'm so truly grateful for her friendship!!!!

I Live a Crazy Life

I must say that the past couple of weeks have been nice, but weird. I've seemed to not have a lot of pressing things to do, and just a little bit of extra time to just sit around and relax. It's kind of making me nervous as I wonder if the Lord just knows that I need this down time before I get to going crazy. Either way, I'm grateful for it!! It's not something I normally get in my life as just a year ago, I was still working 40 hours a week at Petsense while taking care of other things in my life.

Right now, I'm starting to get excited for the new school year, and everything that is involved. It's my last year for my second Bachelor's degree!! I will have another degree in May, and that's so crazy! I won't walk with this one for a couple reasons... 1) I've already walked when I graduated with my Bachelor's degree from Westminster College, and 2) I'll be in Australia for study abroad!!! If everything works out, I'll walk across the stage again the very next May - May 2011 - with my Master's degree in Human Sciences - Child and Family Development. Yay for degree number 4 and progression in my life! :-)

This school year I am going to be busy, and it's going to be fun. But just as a fair warning and early apology, if it seems like I fell off the face of the earth or you never hear from me, it's not because of anything you did... I'm just really busy. However, I really hope that I'll be able to balance everything a little more, and put the things that truly do matter first. I have a few goals that I'm starting to think about in hopes that it'll get my life a little more balanced for the craziness it's going to be.

As of right now, here is a list of all my fun for just the Fall semester and even the whole school year:

* Either 13 credits of undergraduate classes or 10 undergraduate and 3 graduate credits. (I'm still waiting to hear from the Graduate School program.)
* Writing, publishing, and presenting! (I get to co-present at NCFR in San Francisco!)
* Jacks Council for Family Relations (JCFR) President (This will be the first year for JCFR).
* Phi Upsilon Omicron Treasurer.
* School of Human Sciences Ambassador Historian (and committee chair, as all officers are).
* Member of LDSSA and active student in Institute (I LOVE the CES Program!!!).
* Student Assistant for how ever many professors I will be given.
* Possible Resource Center employee for the education/charter school programs
* Key Holder for Petsense as I'm still going to stay (September will be 2 years!).
* "Babysitter" for the family I "live" with and of course, babysitting for anyone else that needs someone! I LOVE KIDS!!!!
* YSA President and everything that comes along with this... I must say, I'm starting to love this calling now, and really starting to get excited for the upcoming year!
* A momma to my baby girl who'll be 3 in September! :-)
* A daughter to my parents as I really want to improve this relationship!
* A girlfriend to my boyfriend... I guess you could say that's what we are now.

Those are the main things that come to mind that will cover a good bit of time. Right now, my family is pretty focused on the fact that my brother is getting married in just over a month (September 19). I can't believe my little brother is getting married!!

So yea, that's just some basic things in my life, but of course, there are always other things going on that not very many people know about or no one at all. My life is crazy, but I wouldn't have it any other way!! I have dreams, desires, wants, and needs. There are things I want to do in my life, and I hope they happen!

Fun Weekend!!

Here is my weekend in picture format. Obviously, it doesn't cover EVERYTHING, but it was a fun weekend! I totally should have gotten more pictures, but I guess that just means I have to go back up that way. :-)

Friday night I went to Mallory's for a family party, and it was fun hanging out with her and Miguel. We laughed and just enjoyed hanging out.

Saturday is the full day, and here are the pictures I did take.

I love to see the Dallas Texas Temple and enjoying a wonderful session with dear friends!!!
I love seeing Harvey Uminski too! :-)

It's my dear KATIE!! It was so good seeing her, and hanging out!
(Please ignore my double chin!!)

Fun times in Walmart! This was the start of the trouble! :-)
We all got "in trouble" for playing with the toys. Oops!

Saturday night I got to stay with Sallie, and it was so good seeing her! She's absolutely amazing!! I have to admit that I wasn't sure if her and I would get along at first when I meet her at EFY, but now, I wish I lived closer so that we could hang out. She's freakin' amazing!

Sunday I attended Denton 5th Ward for Sacrament, and then headed to a family gathering in Rockwall. That was okay, but it's hard for me as I'm not super close with my family. I hope that changes one day!!!
